Release 8 Revision History Revision History ================ 8.01 * In CQWW and AA: An unknown country prefix could cause a crash when changed to a good country. Fixed in 8.01. * The extended keyboard arrow keys didn't work. Fixed in 8.01. 8.02 * IARU HF Championship: zones are restricted to the range 1 - 90 * CT.CFG now fixed. New entry in CT.CFG: Voice Keyer: DVP * DRSI tnc's now work again * The syntax for a TNC in CT.CFG has changed. LOCAL and REMOTE are no longer used. Three typical examples are: TNC: COM2, 4800 TNC: DRSI TNC: REMOTE 8.03 * A full F6 could overrun F7 message. Fixed. * CT.CFG station number always came up one higher than specified. Fixed. * New command line switch: -NC (no comm). NC tells CT to use no comm lines. This is useful when looking at logs after the contest on another computer without radios and tnc's. (tnx W6GO) 8.04 * Improved control of TS950. * F11 and F12 are back. 8.08 * Multi multi bug fixed. An incoming qso from another computer reset the cursor to the begining of the line. This drives you crazy. * ALTF now brings up a window showing exact date and time of a qso. 8.09 * All Asia crash when working a dupe is fixed. (tnx W0YK) * CW/SSB colors fixed in startup window * IARU scoring corrected (tnx W0YK) * Network message "Output buffer full" when COMTSR not loaded has been removed * XT's work again! * ALT F7 now sends QSO B4 message, as the manual says. (tnx N6TV) * The -L switch works again. 8.10 * All Asian logging bug fixed. UA9 could be changed to UA1, but not back. Fixed (tnx N6TV) * Added '?' character to DVP. You can now record a question mark file and have the DVP play it. For example, G3F?B. (tnx N6TV) * The page point totals in AA were wrong (the summary sheet and screen were OK). Fixed (tnx N6TV) * The SuperCheckPartial window is now inhibited if the -d switch is not used on startup. (tnx K1GW) * CT.CFG now has two ways to comment out a line: rem and the ! symbol. For exmple: rem Network: com1, 4800 ! TNC: com2, 9600 This makes CT.CFG by example much easier. (tnx N6TV) * The printed manual is wrong concerning QSO snippets: Alt-6 = 5 seconds Alt-5 = 10 seconds Alt-4 = 15 seconds Alt-3 = 20 seconds Alt-2 = 30 seconds Alt-1 = ? Alt-0 = ? This should read: Alt-0 = 5 seconds Alt-9 = 10 seconds Alt-8 = 15 seconds Alt-7 = 20 seconds Alt-6 = 30 seconds * If FD.DAT was missing a ';', CT386 would not come up. Fixed. (tnx AA6SQ) * In WPX, LA5MM/MM was reported as prefix MM0. LA0AA/QRP was reported as QRP0. Fixed. (tnx SM6LPF) * After running IARU test, chkdsk (a DOS command) found things to fix. This was due to NAME.ZON being opened twice. Fixed. * In IARU, unlogging of HQ stations resulted in incorrect HQ station counts and incorrect score. Fixed. 8.11 * Added the Light (laser) above 24GHz in VHF test. (tnx KH6CP) * CT now fills in IARU zone automatically. * In FD, QSO's across the network failed to send the category, so QSO's showed up as 0A! Fixed (tnx AA6SQ) * In networked Multi-Op situations, the date on machines other than number one fails to roll over at midnight. After a merge operation, things are all balled up. Fixed. (tnx AA6SQ) 8.12 * CT386 had trouble passing RST info between networked PC's. Fixed * IARU did not pass HQ mults between networked PC's correctly. Fixed (tnx N2IC/0) * IARU radio control bug: CT sets all bands to LSB instead of just 160, 80, 40. Fixed. 8.13 * In IARU page totals of qso points were incorrect. Summary sheet and score OK. Fixed (tnx KS1A) * In IARU and DXP mode packet spots came out blue on black which is very hard to read. Fixed. * In a multi-computer networked situation computers connected to the TNC remotely could not talk to the TNC. Fixed. (tnx K2WR) * CT386 is fixed! FlashTek. Inc. of Sandpoint, Idaho has a DOS extender to replace the Zortech product. We tried it and now CT386 sends CW correctly and doesn't gain 8 minutes a day any more. 8.14 * WAE was broken by K1EA a few revs back (trying to save memory). Fixed now. 8.15 * CT checks to see that a file will fit before copying to the ramdrive * QTC's created with CT386 were incompatible wit QTC's with CT86 and CT286. Fixed now. * If a callsign is changed for a QSO that has already had the QTC sent, and extra QTC shows up in the summary sheet. Fixed (tnx W2UP) * When using a DVP and DRSI board at the same time, the ESC key is used by the DVP driver and does not get to the DRSI driver. Use the '*' key in place of the ESC key for the DRSI ESC. For example, connect K1GQ would be: *ck1gq instead of ESCck1gq * The received serial number in SS was coming up 599 or 59! Fixed (tnx NU3Z) * The "new" and "DUPE" messages just below the last log entry are now deleted after a qso. (tnx NU3Z) * There are two new text commands: BANDSPOT and ALLSPOT. When BANDSPOT is selected the announce window only displays spots for the band you are currently on. ALLSPOT selects all spots. CT stores all the spots for the last hour for use in the announce window. Every ten minutes CT throws out spots that were received more than an hour ago. The hour aging process is based on the time a spot was received by CT, not the timestamp that PacketCluster places on it. This feature is useful for Mult-Op stations like N3RS who has tortured me for this feature all year. (tnx N3RD) * ALT= (ALT key pushed with the '=' key) is the new enable pass window key. * Ctrl-F3 records a "your number is" message which is played before a serial number in SS, WPX or CQP. The DVP can now play KILO ONE ECHO ALPHA YOUR NUMBER IS ONE SIXTY THREE BRAVO ... * There is a new text command, PAUSE, which sets the gap between the callsign and the serial number as played by the DVP. PAUSE is set in milliseconds (1000 = 1 second). * the choices in CT.CFG for key connections are: LPT, LPT2, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4 8.16 * All the colors changed! I just felt that 5 years was enough for GREEN! * DVP users note: Type-ahead still is not implemented on the DVP for SSB like it is for CW. This has turned out to be complicated and I don't want to risk breaking the code just prior to contest sseason. * DVP users may now disable the automatic sending of serial numbers and callsigns: Ctrl F4 toggles the serial number feature, Ctrl F5 toggles the callsign feature. A brand new log starts with serial numbers and callsigns enabled by default. 8.17 * ALT F4 inadvertently got removed from 8.16. Ctrl right arrow, was a good substitute however. Fixed 8.18 * In CQP, SBER, SBAR and SMAT were not accepted by CT. Fixed (tnx N6TV) * CT.CFG was not passing on the # sign to F2 memory. Fixed (tnx N6TV) * A note (ALT-N) over 57 charcters crashed CT. Fixed. (tnx N6TV) * Automatic Super Check Partial is activated when the Super Check Window is up. 8.19 * CQWW was broken!!! Log K5NA as zone 5, then try to change the call or zone and CT stops dead. Fixed and sent to every CT owner for whom we have an address. 8.20 * The -LTA switch has been added to change the way beeps are handled 8.21 * DRSI support was broken in 8.20 by accident. I put a quit statement in the line which checks for a loaded TNCTSR. Fixed. * Fixed a CQP and VHF Test bug which made it possible to have undetected dupes when running CT86. CT286 and CT386 were OK. * The default ALLSPOT and BANDSPOT settings for multi-single were reversed. Fixed. 8.22 * CT86 and CT286 were using the CTPATH environment *before* checking the local path for .CTY files. CT86, CT286 and CT386 are now consistent. * UA9W has been changed to zone 16 (along with UA9S). * SUPER CHECK PARTIAL now includes QSO's from your own log as well as calls from MASTER.DTA. (tnx KM9P) * Fixed the "W6REC/KC4" problem. Callsigns with a / symbol may now be entered in the .CTY file. * Kenwood 850/950 are now placed in auto-update mode. This means CT no longer polls the radio every two seconds. Instead, the radio tells CT when a change has occured, much like the ICOM radios. (tnx K3RL) 8.23 * fixed the -MO problem for multi-ops * fixed the breakdown sheet for SS, CQP, FD and others * Networked multiops may now have up to 16 computers linked. (tnx W3LPL) * Networked multiops may now specifiy a name to go with each computer. This requires the file MULTI.CFG (and example is provided with CT). * multi-single inprovements in SS for W6GO * the extra ^ displayed with all /MM stations has been removed. 8.24 * fixed the "B VFO" problem with TS940/950 8.25 * Fixed a problem with split operation on a 990 when B VFO is the RX VFO 8.26 * aborted version that broke control of radios 8.27 * Dayton 93 version that fixed 8.27 and several little bugs 8.28 * Fixed serial number display for Multiop WPX logs. * Fixed Kenwood 850/950 problem where a band changes with ALT F1 or F2 wouldn't "stick" and fell back to old band. * Fixed 850/950 with the '-' key. The '-' key now sets the mode no non-split when no frequency is entered. 8.29 * Check Partial and Super Check Partial are re-enabled in the VHF tests * The WPX exchange now defaults to 5NN# (# is the serial number indication) * AR10 and CQ160 no longer crash in writelog when DX stations are in the log (tnx JE1JKL) * R2B8 and B2R8 now work properly in ARRL DX from DX Side (tnx JE1JKL) 8.30 * In QSLMODE CT386 sometimes crashed after 5 or 10 calls. Fixed (Tnx WB5B) 8.31 * I lost the recipe for driving comm ports on May 27. Fixed in this rev. 8.32 * Changed MS in WPX to send one serial number for all bands instead of a serial number per band. * On startup in VHF tests CT centers the grid map on your own grid instead of FN20 (K1TR's grid)! 8.33 * In FD, the class (1A, 2B etc) was not sent across the wire between computers. All QSO's from other computers were logged as class 0A! This is fixed. (tnx KE9I) 8.34 * New contest! WAE from the European side. Released at Friedrichshafen Hamfair June 1993 8.35 * the FD fix from 8.33 failed to make it into 8.34! Fixed now... * AA bug fixed 8.36 * QSL labels now have the "Thanks QSL" message centered on the bottom line (tnx OZ1LOH) * NEW CONTEST: All Asia from the Asian side * B2R8 and R2B8 now transport the class and section info. * QSL labels for IARU and other contests printed the wrong contest! Fixed. * the .BRK muultiplier totals now include zones as well as countries * ICOM radio control was broken in version 8.31 though 8.35. Fixed now. 8.36 was skipped 8.37 * added relay control for Top Ten Devices remote antenna switch. Starting CT with the -ac switch causes CT to maintain the current band info on the LPT1 output in BCD format. This does not conflict with with other uses of LPT1 such as transmitter CW keying or external voice keyer control. Call Top Ten Devices at 215/935-2684 or write for info to 143 Camp Council Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Let's keep our computer, rig and anntena on the same band automatically. * CT86 stopped loading with out of memory message in 8.36. Fixed 8.39 * CT crashed in WAE if SAVELOG or AUTOSAVE runs before any QTC's have been sent or received. Fixed (tnx DL6RAI) * There is a new command line switch - lz (for Leading Zeros). If CT isw started with the -lz switch, serial numbers with low numbers will have leading zero's prepended to them. For example, 7 becomes 007 and 34 becomes 034. If you wish, you may use the CWABBREV command in the logging window to turn 0's into T, 1's into A and 9 into N. There is no way to have CT send qso number 10 as T10. 8.40 * As of version 8.39 CT286 became too large to load itself. CT286 has been recompiled to fit. CQP1.DAT is now included on the distribution diskette. To operate CQP from outside CA, copy CQP1.DAT to CQP.DAT and run CT in CQP mode. Thanks to KI3V for the idea and CQP1.DAT 8.41 * CT lost the magic to key the LPT ports in version 8.37 when the Top Ten Devices antenna controller was added. Fixed in 8.41. I wish these things didn't happen, but that's life when there ar not enough hours in the day. 8.42 * Fixed a bug in WAE from Eu receiving QTC's * Fixed the zone over ride in .CTY files for countries with more than one zone like W, VE, VK, UA0, BY 8.43 * This fixes special zones forced in the .CTY file * There is a new switch -FO for use in the RPT CQ mode. If -FO is used CT will not stop sending on text typed in the callsign field. CT only stops using the ESC, F4 or '+' keys. This helps out the single ops using two transmitters. (tnx AB6FO) 8.44 * The Announce windows now correctly list needed QSO's for all bands. In prior versions a QSO was only listed if it was needed on all bands. (thanks to KY1H for testinbg this) * the address for thew ICOM 737 has been fixed. The default 3Ch is now correct 8.45 * The Announce window is now updated on all qso's including qso's from other computers on the network. This way, mults or q's worked on another computer disappear immediately instead of waiting for the next local qso. (tnx KY1H) * DVK keying on the LPT ports was broken as of rev 8.40 (the compiler's optimizer got me). Fixed. 8.46 * The CQ160 contest has removed maritime mobile multiplier credit. MM stations now count 5 points. This reflects the 1993 rule changes. * QOS's now propagate over the network for Single Unlimited 8.47 * Cleaned up several small All Asia, from the Asian side bugs. * Added the -LOOP switch to support single comport networking. This switch may ONLY be used when ALL the computers use one comport and they are configured in a loop. * In multi-multi, station numbers over 9 were ignored by CT.CFG. Fixed (tnx W3LPL) * Possible double savelogs in multi-multi are fixed. (tnx W3LPL) * In SS, when using DVP, if F2 or INSERT is pressed prior to entering any call, CT crashed. Fixed. * Please note: CT286 does not shutdown properly under OS2/2.1. CT386 works fine under OS2. * Added the -TT switch for AA6TT. This switch causes CT to erase the RST and INFO fields when the backspace key is used to completely erase the callsign. * The Check Country and Checl Call windows are now smaller, and the Super Check Partial window is moved to the right. This way, both Check Country and Super Check Partial are visible at the same time. (tnx W3LPL) 8.48 * Fixed the crash resulting from the '?' character in Super Check Partial * Super Check Partial only automatically checks on at least 3 characters. Formerly, it checked on 2 or more. * I am considering a change to CT386 which would speed up the character by character check partial by a factor of 100. It requires 40 bytes per qso of addtional memory. This means a 10,000 qso log needs another 1/2 meg of memory. Let me know if you want this change. 8.49 * changed CQWW to correctly score /MM stations. They get QSO credit and zone credit, but not country credit * There is a new utility requested by V73C called CQ2DXP.EXE. This converts a CQWW (or any contest based on the standard 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 bands) log to a DXP log. 8.50 * /MM qso points are now based on the logged zone in CQWW 8.51 * The ARRL VHF QSO Party and VHF SS now allow three modes: CW, SSB and FM This does not change scoring or allow a station to be worked more than one per band. It is simply to improve your personal record keeping. ********************** DON"T USE THIS VERSION ************************* 8.52 * 8.51 broke badly. The header of the log is destroyed and doesn't allow the log to reload. This fixes that problem. * This fixes a problem with networked computers. If you were editing a prior call when a new qso came in, the edits were lost. Fixed. 8.53 * This fixes the SYNC problem between networked computers * Substantal improvement in the TS850/950 interface for VFO B and split
