An important point, and one that is missed by some people, is that if you are only
using CT to key your radio, but you are NOT using computerized frequency control of the
radio, then you should set Radio1/Radio2 to NONE in the CT setup screen. Otherwise,
CT will try to read the frequency from the unconnected radio, which will cause CT to hang,
or to log all your QSOs on the same band (not necessarily the one that you are using). CT
only provides radio control via the selected COM port. You still will need to
purchase the appropriate interface hardware for your radio, including but not limited to
internal options (i.e. Kenwood IF-10B), external interfaces (i.e. ICOM CT-17) and the
appropriate serial port cable ("null modem").

The following ICOM radios will work with CT. Bold means the
radio is directly supported by CT. If not bold, then you may need to reprogram the
hex address code in your radio to match one of the radios that CT supports directly.

CT does not support any of the JRC transceivers at this time.
The following ICOM radios will work with CT. Bold means the
radio is directly supported by CT. If not bold, then you may need to tell CT you
have a different, but supported Kenwood radio. Kenwood radios are the best supported in
CT. They all use the same command set, so just about any Kenwood will work, no
matter what you call it.

Brian
McGinness N3OC says: The Kenwoods have an "auto information"
setting (on/off) which is used to make the radio report its frequency automatically to the
computer every time the VFO knob is turned (akin to the "babbling" that ICOM
radios do). If this command is OFF, the radio will not report its frequency when you
tune around, and therefore CT will not scroll the band map with you, but it will still
respond to grabbing a spot or changing bands. This command has to be set when CT
initializes the radio communication, and I note the TS-450 works as an TS-850 only after
that command has been set. It seems to work better (and all the time) if you tell CT
it is a TS-50.

need to tell CT you have a different, but supported Yaesu radio.
